AlkaFast is our fasting and alkaline living app to help people venturing into fasting and the alkaline lifestyle. I’m sure the next thing you naturally want to ask is what fasting and the alkaline lifestyle are all about. I’ll break it all down for you in this blog post.

According to Healthline, the alkaline diet is rooted in eating alkaline foods that can alter your body’s pH. pH, on the other hand, basically measures how acidic or alkaline (basic) a substance is. pH stands for “potential of Hydrogen” and is a scale that ranges from 0 to 14, indicating the concentration of hydrogen ions (H⁺) in a solution.

Cleveland Clinic states that a pH of 0-6 is considered acidic, a pH of 7 is neutral, while a pH of 8 or higher is basic or alkaline. This explains that food classification within its acidity and alkaline clarification falls without these criteria.
